I would like to involve myself in the SAP IS-OIL application area. Currently i am having 3+ years experience mainly in SD module and other modules such as MM, PP, and FICO.

SAP TD: Loss in Transfer during O4H1
Dear All
I struck in the scenario where system shows error during O4H1: Loss in transfer for needs reference store location/batch (MCHB).
This error came when i am doing the Delivery confirmation of the material i.e O4H1.
I am doing following scenario: I created the STO from Plant A to Plant B with 30 TO. I created the Outbound delivery and then done the confirmation of Scheduling and Loading with 30 TO quantity. Now, in Plant B the actual receipt quantity is 28.75 TO. When i put actual quantity in Delivery Confirmation i.e. O4H1, the system shows above mentioned error.
I worked and found that if i created the material and has not done any TD process beforehand and do the Delivery confirmation with same or more than loaded quantity, then there is no error and if i reversed the O4H1 and again enter the 28.75 TO then there is no error and system post the actual inventory and update the accounting entries properly.
I am not able to get the solution and cause of this error. So, Kindly help me on this i will thankful to all.

ASTM Table 53 / 54
Hi,
We are using Base Oil as our product. Can anyone suggest which table shall I use for conversion.
Or else can someone suggest what are the basic difference between ASTM Table 53 / 54 A,B,C,D apart from which type of product these are being used for. I mean more mathematically, what is that these tables do different from each other.
Also is there a download link to any ASTM 53 54 table available with you.

Silo management
Hi all,
Can someone help me in creating the Silos and taking dip readings, posting procedure on a step - by - step basis.
Also I am not clear whether the tank dips posted through O4tiger hits the stocks of material. Can somone throw light on the same ??

Correction in transaction O4G1 2-step transfer
In Shipment load confirmation (O4g1) for STO, the system generates 311 and 641 Goods Issue movements. Later, when we try to reverse a loading
confirmation, the system send error message M7021 deficit of SL unrestricted-use ... The error is about quantity in intransit storage location; although the system creates document with 642 movement, it can't create movement 312 and sends the error Message related above.
If I try again transaction o4g1, the system creates 312 movement in a new document, finishing the reversal. So, at last, the shipment is correctly
recorded in status 2 but I don't understand why I have to use transaction o4g1 two times.

Question about floating roof correction
Dear all,
I have just started to learn how IS-OIL solution is functioning and a question arises regarding floating roof correction.
In silo management function, you can simulate the material volume using material density, total height, material temperature and shell temperature(using LVCC calculator).
If the material density is increased, then the material volume is also increased.
(Of course floating roof correction indicator is set.)
I don't understand why material volume is increased when the material density is increased in the system.
And in a real business, in what situation is material density increased?
Does that happen when the floating roof is replaced with a heavier one?
In SAP ERP I changed the floating roof weight value but it didn't affect the calculation result of the material volume.
(Note that the material density is not changed, and my understanding is that the density is not changed automatically when the roof weight is changed.)
Can somebody figure the above system behavior out and advise practical silo management in oil industry?

ASTM tables in IS-OIL
Hi All,
Our client is into upstream Oil and Gas. We are implementing a SAP solution and would be using the relevant ASTM tables for conversion and measurement.
Could someone please guide me with the step-by-step process to be followed, in order to use ASTM tables in SAP. I.e. can someone please let me know, how to configure the SAP system to use ASTM tables/Standards.
This is an urgent requirement. Your response in this regards is highly appreciated.

Issue in two step transfer gain posting through BAPI..
We are using two step transfer process with STO. During development of this process, we were able to test and confirm that when the GR is greater than GI, the system posts 101 for total qty; the excess qty (gain posting) automatically happens (with 858 movement) after posting material document.
For example, if goods issue is for 200 units and goods receipt is for 205, the 101 movement is posted with 205 units and once material document is posted, we get two lines as below.
101 mvt - 205 units
858 mvt - 5 units representing the difference between GI and GR.
But during the technical development process, we are having issue when posting through the BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE_OIL. While we are able to populate the GR qty with 101 movement, 858 being an automatic movement, we could neither post it through BAPI nor it is populated automatically.
Is there any specific field required to be populated for getting this gain posting with 858 mvt or any other settings needed in BAPI ? Appreciate any inputs.

I have gone through help.sap.com and read about SAP PRA.
However it doesnt answer the basic question where does this module starts from and how this intergrated with FI,CO and joint venture accounting, PP,PM.
